"Welcome to the Symposium & Youth Summit"

Join us for a powerful two-day experience designed to educate, empower, and equip both coaches and youth with the tools to lead, grow, and succeed—on and off the field. The KJ Impact Coaching Symposium & Youth Summit brings together athletic leaders, educators, and young athletes for a weekend of intentional development, community building, and purpose-driven programming.

Day 1 – Coaching Symposium (Friday, 5/30)

The Coaching Symposium is an immersive professional development opportunity for coaches, athletic directors, and mentors at all levels. Through workshops, keynote sessions, and expert panels, attendees will explore critical topics such as:

  • Managing team dynamics and communication

  • Navigating the NIL and transfer portal landscape

  • Supporting athlete mental health and wellness

  • Developing leadership and life skills in student-athletes

Led by seasoned professionals—including former NFL athletes, collegiate coaches, and industry experts—this day is designed to sharpen leadership skills and strengthen the impact of coaches across all sports.

Day 2 – Youth Summit (Saturday, 5/31)

The Youth Summit is a high-energy, hands-on experience tailored for middle and high school students. Participants will engage in:

  • Skill-building workshops

  • Leadership and character development sessions

  • Mental health and self-care discussions

  • Interactive activities with college athletes and coaches

Students will leave empowered with a greater sense of purpose, practical tools for success, and inspiration from mentors who’ve walked the path before them.

BIOGRAPHY

Kerry Johnson is a dedicated husband, father, mentor, and community leader, serving as the Vice President of the KJ Impact Foundation and owner of VSI Training

A proud native of Madison, Alabama, Kerry has devoted his career to supporting youth development and empowering his community. As Vice President of the KJ Impact Foundation, he leads initiatives focused on mentorship, life skills, and community outreach, helping foster athletic and personal growth in young people. As the owner of VSI Training, Kerry provides specialized strength and conditioning coaching, focusing on both physical and mental resilience for athletes at all levels.

Kerry’s children have carried on the family legacy of leadership in athletics. Kerryon Johnson, a former NFL running back, is currently the Running Backs Coach at East Tennessee State University, guiding young athletes with the same dedication and discipline that defined his playing career. Nyla Johnson serves as the Head Women’s Coach at Vincennes University, while Kerron Johnson is an Assistant Men’s Coach at Belmont University, both making a significant impact in the world of collegiate athletics. Kalonda Johnson, a Mental Health Professional, works tirelessly to support individuals in overcoming mental health challenges, further contributing to the family’s legacy of service and holistic well-being.

Through his leadership, unwavering commitment to family and community, and dedication to the development of young athletes, Kerry Johnson has built a lasting legacy of mentorship and service that extends far beyond the field.
